the plan for NEW STEWARDSHIP of MPTW!
A final agreement was reached on April 7th 2021 for the Tileworks of Bucks County, a Non-Profit Organization, to steward the working history museum and tile works into the future.
A red-letter day! Katia McGuirk, tile maker and executive director of the Tileworks of Bucks County, outlined her organization's plan for the tileworks during the April 7th presentation. They plan to continue making tile using local wild clay in the traditional Arts & Crafts manner, build a robust marketing plan, and improve tours and add experiences."The tenets of this agreement guarantee that the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works is protected in perpetuity," McGuirk said. "We have adhered to the principals of Bucks County's official Comprehensive Plan."

July 7-9, in the North Hall of the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL.

Are You Inspired by Tile?

The Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, a National Historic Landmark, will be transitioning to a lease operation soon . . . more DETAILS . . .
The Pottery has been maintained as a "working history" museum by Pennsylvania's County of Bucks, Department of Parks and Recreation. Handmade tiles are still produced in a manner similar to that developed by the pottery's founder and builder, Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930). We are SO grateful that this 'icon of the industry' will continue… as more details emerge, we will SHARE them with you!
