Peace Valley Tile
Peace Valley Tile is a unique company dedicated to artistic and technical
excellence in its approach to ceramic design and tile making. Products
include a distinctive line of glazed and unglazed tiles for many applications:
floors, kitchens, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, pool perimeters, mosaics,
exteriors, and both sculpted and architectural custom installations. Designer
Will Mead and his team of craftsmen are located just outside of Doylestown,
Pennsylvania, in the heart of Bucks County.
A native of Connecticut, Will Mead was first introduced to pottery in high school.
He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of
Fine Arts in ceramics. Later he apprenticed for three years at the Moravian Pottery
and Tile Works and settled in New Britain, establishing Peace Valley Tile in 1985.
Working successfully with architects, designers and homeowners throughout the U.S.,
Will won the grand prize in the Spectrum International Design Competition in 1995
for the floor of St. Casimir's Church in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. A master of the
craft, he collaborated with the Fulper family to recreate the glazes of Arts & Crafts
potter William Fulper. His current crystalline glaze selection, rarely found on
contemporary tiles, are a beautiful by-product of that extensive research.
