The McIntyre Tile Company was founded in 1972 in Healdsburg, California, in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country. The ceramics team spent a year developing their original stoneware field tiles that were prized by San Francisco architects and designers for their warm, earthy look and color character.

McIntyre is the only tile manufacturer that uses the same high fired, cone 10 reduction process that is used in fine ceramic studios. The company's vision continues to be the successful translation of the studio pottery approach into field, trim and decorative tiles, featuring hand-painted art work, carved tiles and hand-cut mosaics. New motifs are regularly introduced.

Every order is custom-manufactured at the Healdsburg plant. The company's capability in color matching and customization, giving individual attention to every order, sets McIntyre apart. The custom production methods give the finished tiles the beauty and originality of handmade art. Craftspeople formulate the clays and glazes, shape, cut, fire and finish the tiles. The personal attention to each order enables McIntyre to produce tiles of the highest standard and create unique colors, in the shapes and sizes needed by the customer.
